The Meridian

The Meridian occupies a constrained city-centre plot with live commercial neighbours on three sides. The structural solution — a post-tensioned concrete frame on a raft foundation — was chosen to keep floor plates open and the construction footprint tight. Excavation, dewatering, and substructure works were completed without a single disruption claim from adjoining properties.

Above ground, the programme turned on coordination. Curtain walling, mechanical risers, and lift installation ran as overlapping packages, sequenced floor by floor so that trades never queued. The building topped out three weeks ahead of schedule, and the envelope was weathertight before the rains arrived.

The Meridian was handed over fully commissioned, with every system tested against the employer's requirements and a defect list short enough to close out in a fortnight. It now anchors its street, and it was built to keep doing so for decades.
